This section of the Frequently Asked Questions deals with the Oceania iAEM website and email list.
To be a member of the iAEM Oceania email list, you must belong to iAEM Global, and be living in one of the member countries.
We will be notified of all new members to the Oceania region, and we will add you to the email list. It is not possible to subscribe yourself to the list.
The list is not available to non-iAEM members, however, you could consider joining the publicly available iAEM list.
A number of people have had trouble registering because they have not been receiving the emails with the one-time password to get started. This appears to have been caused by some organisations mail servers performing 'aggressive' filtering of emails - they recognise the welcome email as spam.
Solutions include:
The moderator of the International Association of Emergency Managers Oceania Email List is Gavin Treadgold. If you have any questions, comments, or complaints about the list, please contact the Email List Manager.
This list is designed to provide a private members email list for all iAEM Oceania region members for emergency managers to exchange ideas, thoughts, problems and solutions that relate to the emergency management profession, in addition to conducting iAEM Oceania business. It is not a general discussion list.
Your agreement to the following is assumed when you join the iAEM Oceania region.
If you disagree with the relevance/usefulness of posted information, don't send a complaint to the entire list. Instead, please send an email message to the email list manager.

The email list is set up to attempt to intercept most messages created when someone sets an out-of-office auto-reply. The mailing list software should stop most of these messages reaching the list, but on occasions they may get through. This does not indicate that anything is wrong.
We would recommend that you just delete them if you receive them.
