Profile:
Amy has a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Development and Health in Disaster Management from Coventry University in the UK. During this degree she undertook a placement year and was involved in managing the response to the Buncefield Oil Depot explosion and fire. In 2007 she moved to New Zealand to pursue her Ph.D. studies. Now within the Civil & Natural Resources Engineering Department at the University of Canterbury, Amy’s current research focuses on measuring and benchmarking the resilience of organisations. This research is being done through the Resilient Organisations Research Programme and focuses not on specific hazards and their affects, but on measuring organisations capacity for response innovation and creativity, and the adaptation of organisations before, during and after crises.
