Dear Colleagues,
In an email on the 25th February 2008 I called for nominations for the position of Australian National Representative, IAEM Oceania Region closing at COB Friday 7th March 2008.
At close of business today, Only one valid nomination was received by the secretary, Oceania Region who was the appointed returning officer for this position.
Therefore the Oceania Region executive by unanimous decision hereby appoint Mr Scott Milne ESM, MIAEM as the Australian National Representative for the next two years.
Scott Milne ESM, MIAEM has been involved in emergency management and emergency service for over twenty five years. Scott is an Assistant Director at Emergency Management Australia (EMA), and has held senior operational roles, including the ACT support to the Australian response to the Tsunami Crisis 2004/05, ACT Bushfires 2003, ACT Christmas Bushfires 2001, MIR Space Station re-entry 2001, Y2K National Operations Centre 2000, Olympic Volunteers in Policing and Torch Relay 2000, Thredbo Landslide 1997, NSW Bushfires 1994, and numerous floods in NSW during the 1980's.
Scott was awarded the Emergency Service Medal (ESM) in the 2002 Australia Day Honours list for leadership in Emergency and Bushfire Service.
