Description

The conference will provide a forum to discuss the integration of hazard information into effective risk management, including:

  • Applying hazard information to best practice planning
  • Developing effective warning systems
  • Improved response and recovery from events
  • Creating resilient communities through integrating science into practice

The target audience is: Emergency managers, planners, risk assessors, asset and utility managers, natural hazards researchers and scientists.

  • Oct 2007: Call for papers and trade displays.
  • Mar 2008: Registration details on the web and printed final circular available.
  • 1 Apr 2008: Deadline for abstract submissions for talks.
  • 1 May 2008: Confirmation of main conference speaking programme.
  • 28-31 July 2008: Conference and workshops.

Registration: - Available from 2008

The registration fee for the conference is $385 ($440 after 1 June 2008) (inclusive of GST) per participant.
Fulltime student registration fee is $165 ($220 after 1 June 2008) (inclusive of GST).

Note: These fees do not include the Workshops.
Morning and afternoon teas, lunches, social events, and the Conference Proceedings volume are included as part of the registration fee.
