Emergencies and disasters are becoming an increasing part of our lives, whether they are nature’s way or human caused. The effect of climate and weather related events on our lives has become a focus throughout the world.
Managing emergencies has become a priority for governments at all levels as well as for the business community. Community awareness of what to do in an emergency is vitally important.
We need to continually review what we are doing to ensure our communities understand the hazards and are prepared for the unexpected.
The Australian Disasters Conference 2009 will provide participants with the opportunity to hear a diverse range of speakers from the fields of emergency management, community safety and risk reduction.
The Conference will be an opportunity for interaction with representatives from a broad range of disciplines, while the exhibition display and social events will provide further opportunities for networking and discussion on community safety issues.
