Provision of emergency management planning services and executive support to the State Emergency Management Committee (SEMC).
Responsible for overseeing the activities of allocated Functional Areas as referred to in the NSW State Disaster Plan (Displan) and the NSW emergency management arrangements. Responsibilities includes the review and maintenance of those sections of the State Disaster Plan that relate to the functional areas allocated; supporting the development, evaluation, review and maintenance of associated State Functional Area Supporting Plans and any allocated State Sub-Plans; coordinate the development and review of on-site emergency plans for identified critical infrastructure and major hazard facilities within the functional areas allocated; and review District level emergency management planning for those aspects related to the functional areas allocated. The position assists with the development and delivery of emergency management training and the conduct of exercises. The position also project-manages emergency related programs and projects as allocated, and performs duties in the State Emergency Operations Centre.
This position is required to ensure that, for the functional areas allocated, operational preparedness, response and recovery arrangements for an emergency event are
both efficient and effective. The position is responsible for supporting the Functional Area Coordinators and any supporting and participating agencies of the Functional
Area sub-committees. The position also supports other special purpose sub-committees and working parties as directed.
This position is required to contribute to and assist in the preparation of State Emergency Management Committee reports, emergency related policy, prepare Ministerial briefs and letters, prepare exercise papers, take and prepare minutes of meetings, organise meetings and conferences and conduct presentations.
